~~ The cover ~~

Cut 2 pieces of cardboard 4,5 inch (11.5cm) * 5,3 inch(13.5 cm). Ink the edges with dark brown ink.

Emboss two papers from  ”One Moment in Time” 6 x 6 paper pad, made of the width of the plate embossing, the embossing paper must be a little bit larger than the cardboard. Then cut two embossed papers of the same size as the cardboard. Paste on both sides before.

Ink the edges and sew with the brown thread.

Emboss with a heat gun uneven edges and center using silver powder.

Now cut out a 5,3 inch (13,5cm)*2,8 inch(7 cm) piece of paper. As for the covers of departure, emboss, ink edges and heat emboss. Decorate the center.

On the covers draw a line 0,6 inch (1.5 cm) as on the photo. Apply glue evenly and stick the binding on one side and then the other.

Mark the folds and cut into a brown fabric one piece bigger than your coverage of 0,4 inch (1 cm) on each side. Create hems so that the fabric is to the dimension of the cover. Sew hems. Paste some muslin on the hems side.

Now stick the fabric on the two inner sides of the cover but not in the center. Let dry with pliers.

Draw, cut in a 12 * 12 paper of the”One moment in time” collection a rectangle of 5,1 inch (13cm) *8,9 inch (22,5 cm).

Fold to 4,3 inch (11 cm) on each side. And let the center with a margin of 0,2 inch (0.5 cm).

Ink the pages and stick them

Stick the bottom on the cover as on the picture.

Tomoko and her sweet layout!

Hello TSC Fans! Tomoko here with another The ScrapCake projects featuring My Private Happiness collection!

For my today’s layout I used Clear Scraps XL Deco for my background.

This is a photo of my daughter when she turned 4 years old in March. She is holding lots of balloons!! I added some pink to this layout to make it the “girly” look on it:) You see that I used The Most Beautiful Moments paper (the one with the little circles on it) as my background. This paper is not only great for cut outs, but they are also great for your backgrounds too:)

May TSC ScrapBOOK!

Hello TSC Fans! Maja and Zuzia welcome on another fantastic ScrapBOOK Sunday! Today, as usually once per month we have a 2 small and lovely (and we hope very inspiring!) mini albums. Each of them has a different style and featuring different TSC collections, so without any further ado – just take a look what’s we created for our May ScrapBOOK day:

At the beginning of the summer holiday we set off on our first true sailing trip in the Masurian Lake District. To be up to date at least once in my scrapping career, I decided to prepare myself in advance and create an album to mark this great adventure. Easier said than done! First of all, I’m not much of an album maker – I create at best 2 or 3 a year. Secondly, it’s incredibly hard for me to create without photos. And last but not least – we’ve never done anything like this before and thus I’ve no idea what to expect and how to prepare a raw album. So, the basis of this journey diary is the idea I wanted to try for a long time – envelopes. Each envelope marks one day of the cruise. I decorated the envelopes with scraps of various TSC papers and tucked inside large tags for photos and journaling. I also added a few extra photo pages. The backs of the envelopes are only stamped and assigned for keepsakes such as postcards, tickets, maps etc. As I intend to take the album with me and fill it in day-to-day, I made the covers from cardboard and secured the corners with metal overlays. So, nothing remians but to count down! I combined here: Spring Awakening, Summer At The Seaside, The Bright Side Of Life and Cozy Xmas (!!!) collections.

Today I present my mini album with photos of my younger daughter – Lilusia. I love making mini albums, as you don’t need much time, you may use lot’s of paper leftovers that you collect after making bigger projects. From time to time, we go back to the memories kept in those mini albums with Julia. We admire watching them together. This album is made of My Private Happiness collection. Note, that this collection is full of elements to cut out!

Children’s Department Projects!

Hello everyone, it’s Kuba here with some newest projects from me and my Children’s Department friend – Kubuś, who is son of our fantastic TSC Designer Mrs Maja (did you know that?)!

I’ve been thinking lately that this whole scrapbooking is very complicated, as I’m constantly learning new things and I’m wondering whether I would be able to say one day that I know everything. I knew I can colour with different things, but didn’t know I can also colour with spritzes (glimmer mist – mum ;-) ) And here’s the story: on each birthday of someone in my class the rest creates birthday cards. I always try to make a card with something that person likes, and now I was to make a card for my friend who likes cars. I chose the stamp a long ago, but had nothing silver to colour it with. Neither pencils nor paints had the shine of cars. And then I remembered my Mum’s spritzes and we both decided to try. And we managed at the first attempt! All kids in the class were curious how I made that car shine :-) And that’s what I like about scrapbooking – you can always try.

I am presenting today the first pages of the album for the little Laura. There will be more pages and I will show you them a little bit later, when it will be finished.

As you can see here is also some space for notes about important matters.

I don’t know yet which of these pages will be used as an album cover. I have to think about that later, as soon as I finish all pages. I decided to create this mini album in a circle shape, and I used two of The ScrapCake collections: The Bright Side Of Life and Spring Awakening.

We hope that you enjoyed our today’s projects! Have a wonderful weekend!

Sweet boyish layout from Gerry!

Hallo TSC fans, this is Gerry here today sharing a layout where I use the totally gorgeous “My Private Happiness” collection. From the moment I saw this collection I knew I`d scrap photos of my son when he was little cute boy wearing his long hair and striking poses for mommy.

My layout is based on white cardstock.  The background was masked, misted and stamped with a flourish stamp.

I cut out flourish patterns and scallops from the pattern papers and layered them with flowers from Manor House Creations.

And two more close-ups…

I hope you enjoyed my layout today! Have a scrappy day!

Amazing gift idea by Zuzia!

Hello, it’s Zuzia here with another The ScrapCake inspiration for you! Today I would share a small handmade box which may be used when we would like to give some money, for wedding or another occasion. Some time ago someone said me that givin the money as a gift is like a giving the sausage (as a gift), funny, but I don’t agree with this. I think even a small amount of money can be a great gift if we put it in beautiful, interesting and of course handmade package.

For my project I combined a few The ScrapCake collections: One Moment In Time, Spring Awakening and My Private Happiness.

Polka dots on Renia’s lovely projects!

Hello, All Dear Fans of TSC! It’s Renia here, with a polka-dot inspiration :)

From the moment I saw it for the forst time, the polka-dotted paper (no 04) from The Spring Awakening collection was one of my favourites. It matched perfectly a picture of my sister’s “crazy” ride in a tourist bus in Brussels :)  I didn’t want to cover too much space of a paper, so the main composition gathered around the photo. To make sure that photo’s colors stand out, in this LO I used mainly grey and “washy” red add-ons: cut stripes and napkins from two half-papers (no 07 and no 08).

The main assumption was “no flowers”, so as an add-ons we have here buttons and acrylic dew drops only. To spice things up I added some black elements: I made black ink’s splashes, here and there I glued black decorative tape and stamped with great care :)  The big “thank-you” goes to 3D tape, because it elevates stripes and makes the photo more interesting.

This LO will be a gift for my “crazy” sister. So to make a nice set, I hastily made a card in the same mood.

Polka-dots are here no more, but colors and other elements stays the same :) Placed on a 3d tape as well, to get an elevation effect. The new things here are hand made flowers :) It’s a mini bouquet of roses for my beloved sister :)

Spring Awakening Collection

I hope I gave yo an inspiration to play with big patterned papers. It’s not that hard thanks to accompanying papers from the collection! Thank you for popping by and all your impressions about my works you left in comments!

Heartily regards.

3 amazing projects from Trudi!

Hello Lovely TSC Fans, Trudi here today with some projects created with the ‘One Moment In Time’ Collection. It is currently Autumn or ‘Fall’ for our overseas friends here in Australia at the moment. The colors of the leaves about my place are glorious and I have taken some color inspiration from them for my following project.

First up I have a little altered wire dress form project which I affectionately refer to as ‘Autumn Glory’:

A bodice was first created from patterned papers and skirt from tulle.

Some leaves have been die cut from patterned paper– I used Spellbinder dies for these.  They were distressed and given a light coating of ‘Diamond Dust’ along with a quick misting of Tattered Angels Patina Glimmer Mist before being arranged and attached around the top of the skirt.

Pretty blooms finish off the transformation:

For my following layout, I have started with the ‘If You Seize That’ pattered paper for the base.

Elements from the 7 x 12 Borders were hand cut and attached. A die cut decorative frame and large flourish vine were added along with more Manor House Creations (our Australian Partner and Distributor) blooms.

For my final project, I started with the ‘A Heartbeat Away’ patterned paper.   A touch of misting was added using Tattered Angels Juneberry Wine Glimmer Mist and an acrylic decorative doily mask.

Long Banner strips created from the ‘Each Day I Live’ paper were added over the top. Strips were cut in different lengths and attached vertically and horizontally. Some decorative accents hand cut from ‘The Much Remains’ paper were attached along one side of the photo, along with a large flourish die cut vine.

TSC May Guest Designer!!!

Helo dear TSC Fans! At the end of March The ScrapCake Team visited Skrapowisko Crop, a kind of periodical meeting of scrapbooking lovers in Polish city Łódź. If you want, click here to read the report. During that meeting we carried out a quick challenge. The participants had to make a card with at least 5 layers in 20 minutes! We supported them with randomly chosen TSC papers. It was a fantastic joyful time and the winner was Kasia Wiaderska known as Pasja Kati. Beside the prize – the collection of TSC papers – Kasia was invited as a Guest Designer in May. Today we have a great honour to present Kasia and her beautiful works. Let’s welcome our May Guest Designer warmly:

~~ Pasja Kati ~~

And here you can read, what Kasia says about herself:

Hello my dears! I don’t like talking about myself so I won’t take you long time. My name’s Kasia. I ‘m rather known as Pasja Kati among the Internauts. I’m an incorrigible romantic with a sensitive artistic soul. My head is full of ideas but unfortunately time flows too fast. I’m a happy wife and mother of two beloved kids: Wiktor (6 yeas old) and Oskar (2).

My scrapbooking adventure started a year and a half ago. But I feel I’ve been always scrapping and even I was born to scrap! From the beginning I fell in love with vintage style and I only wanted to create such projects. Now, I tend to make some exceptions. Mostly I’m inspired by particular papers, but not always. Sometime I find photos or newly bought scrapbooking accessories.I don’t like doing something because it’s my duty. My project must be spontaneous and then I feel satisfied. My works are rather low-key, you won’t find there colourful madness or contrasts. Obligatorily, there must be some hand made flowers (by myself, of course). I also distress and ink the edges. Besides the cards that I make quite often, I like keeping my memories in albums or altering different objects eg. boxes. They’re ideal for keeping my embllies.
That’s all about me.

I feel immensely excited, that I was given an opportunity to show you my works. I’d like to thank Karola for invitation as a Guest Designer. That’s a huge pleasure for me!

And now, I present some different projects created with various TSC collections.

Did I mention that I love those papers? Yes, yes, I did love them because they’ve got huge inspiring power. They almost work by themselves! See you soon in the next Guest Designer post!

~~ Kasia ~~

Kasia – we are so happy having the opportunity to present you as a GDT  this month! We are sure that the next May GDT posts made by our super talented and so lovely as a person Guest will be a huge pleasure and very inspiring for you all!

Thank you for stopping by on tSC blog today and feel invited to visit our blog every day!
