The end of December is not only the time for Christmas and New Year’s Eve preparations, but also the moment to look back on the passing year.
I also made a little annual summary – and today I’d like to show a project that illustrates our most important event of 2011 and the crowning point of a year’s preparations – our boys’ First Communion days. We have no photos of the ceremony, as there were no paparazzi in the church
and just a couple of family photos, but they still made quite a fat little album
I assumed at the very beginning that the album was going to have a separate box – I used a ready-made 7Gypsies album kit – so the album was limited both in size and volume. I couldn’t use too dimensional embellishments, and the photos fill most of every page, therefore I mostly used beautifully cut chipboards, and the main decorative elements were papers. Here I had no doubt at all and grabbed The Bright Side of Life collection – the event was a very happy one and moreover, the papers have so beautiful designs they don’t need additional embellishments. And here’s the effect:

The final effect is exactly as I wanted – not too pompous, but joyful, light yet festive, just as those two special days.
greetings – and see you in the new year!
