Handmade In Maja’s Scraproom!

Hello everyone! It’s Maja here today and following the theme of the last week, I’ll show you some handmade things from my scraproom. I’m so blessed to have a tiny, but separate room for (almost) all my crafty things :)

I have no skills to handmade a shelf or something, but some objects in my little kingdom I made, or rather altered, all by myself. The “youngest” piece of euqipment in the room is the box that should help me to get used to utilizing left-overs. Often after having finished a project I have a single flower or a piece of chipboard or several inches of ribbon left. I decided not to put those back in the boxes or drawers I keep my stuff in and where those bits would get lost in the crowd ;) , but to put them into a box standing right next to me on the desk, so I can reach it anytime and thus use the leftovers. And so, at the beginning o this year, this handybox came into being :)

I painted an ordinary wooden box you can get from an art shop with white acrylic paint, covered the bottom with a piece of paper and inserted a piece of chipboard cut so that it goes in with some difficulty and therefore doesn’t move even though it’s not fixed in any way. Thus I got two compartments, one for the flowers and the other for the rest of stuff.

The box is standing right beside my keyboard and I hope to see that beautiful bottom very often :)

Besides this box I also made several other containers. For example, this glitter box, using a ready made chipboard base:

…a marker box, made from a mineral water bottle:

…or this “pocket holder” for most often used accessories, made from a piece of cloth onto which I sewed a couple of old jeans pockets and put into a picture frame:

All the above things didn’t require much time, work or skills – as I said, I’m not the handyman type, unfortunately – yet they look nice and are very useful :)

Have a nice Sunday! :)
