A tutorial with Nerrida!

Hi everyone, Nerrida here! Well I know that over in Europe, people are getting ready for Spring, so I went back to a favourite collection of mine and used ‘Spring Awakening’ in honour of the coming season.  I only wish it was coming Spring here in Australia too. The layout is of my youngest daughters very first pigtails – cute!

Materials needed:

  • ‘Spring awakening’ papers
  • 8″ doily
  • Mr Calico – ‘Piglet’ mist
  • Manor House Creations flowers – ‘Mascarpone’, ‘blossoms’, ‘Fairy Floss’ & ‘Anniversary’.
  • Kaiser pearls & rhinestone strips & ‘Rose’ ink pad.
  • Chipboard title and Basic grey alpha stickers
  • Basic Grey paper lace.

Step 1: Cut the paper #5 down on all sides by about 1.5″ and glue to the centre of white cardstock.

Step 2: Trim the outside 1″ of paper #4 and glue to cardstock then add strips of pink Kaiser pearls as shown.

Step 3: Cut out 2 banners from paper #2 and a few of the doily shapes from paper #7.

Step 4: Using Mr Calico’s misting spray, mist the whole doily lightly. Place the doily in the centre of the page and tuck the small paper doilies under the edges as shown. Adhere all pieces.

Step 5: Using a scrap of paper, spray the mascarpone flower (or any white paper flower) & lightly ink most of the edges.

Step 6: Add the cut-out banners as shown using 3D foam dots, and the Mascarpone flower, then tuck a few blossoms under the edges of the large flower.

Step 7: Tuck your photo under the edges of the banner and fasten, then add the paper lace strips and some cut doily edge from the borders 7×12″ paper and run along the base of your photo and across the page, then add Kaiser pearl strip on the join. Add flowers as shown.

Step 8: Cut  out the doily/flowers from paper #8 and tuck under the right-hand side of the photo as shown. Add your title. I have layered the chipboard and alpha stickers.

Step 9: Add the flower with rhinestones to the top banner.

Step 10: Add journalling tag to bottom of the page, and you’re all done!
