Hello, dear TSC Fans, Renia here! Today we starting the theme week “My Sweet Childhood Week” – all about our own childhood memories!
Today I want to show you my my first project based on one of recent TSC collections — “Sweet Childhood”. This work has delicate and sweety-sweet colors, but also doilies — I love them most. So I had to do a work with them. I decided to join both occasions and I’ve made LO with my old picture — it’s me with my beloved teddy bear. I loved t-bears back then, I love them now. No doll, no matter how pretty, could win my feelings with a squeezed, soft, woolly t-bear. A t-bear that could make sorrows go away, could give a feeling of safety and could be at my side in every important moment of my life. This photo always brings me sweet memories. I tried to deliver that sweetness in LO. If I managed to do that, please see for yourself:
The “A Child’s Love” paper in a 90 degrees rotated version made an ideal base for whole design. I used napkins of different shapes and sizes mostly, with just a bit of die-cuts elements (they are perfect as a supplement). Some of napkins were much decorated, so there was no need to add any flowers or add-ons, with except of few buttons and pearls.
All of elements I distressed a bit with ink to get out their contrast. I glued them up with 3D foam tape, to add some dimension.
I hope I inspired you a bit to have fun with elements cut from papers. I often travel by bus, and when I do, I take a couple of sheets from collections that include doilies motifs. I cut them while riding, so I can use this time to think about works I will do in a future.
